Embedded Web Pages in WebCenter Spaces do not Maintain the State when Navigating to a Different Tab/Page and Back (Doc ID 1087221.1)

Last updated on JULY 27, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.2.0 to 11.1.1.2.0 [Release 11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Embedded Web Pages do not maintain the state when navigating to a different Tab/Page and get back.

This happens with Pages based on the Web page template and with the Web Page Layout component.

If you navigate within the web page, then navigate to a different Tab or Page, and then get back to the Web Page you will see the Web page will start over versus staying at the place where you were before you left the web page.

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Create a page based on the Web Page template.

  2. Configure the page to point to any Web Page (URL).
    For example: http://www.oracle.com

  3. Navigate to a different Tab or link within the Web page.

  4. Now navigate to another Tab or Page in WebCenter Spaces.

  5. Get back to the Web Page.
Here you will see the Web page starts again at the home page.

Same issue happens with the Web Page Layout task flow component.
