OmniPortlet Based on Web Service Data Source Returns: Error: DCA-40010: The Web Service call failed (Doc ID 1102004.1)

Symptoms


An OmniPortlet with Web Service Data Source shows the following error:


Error: DCA-40010: The Web Service call failed.
The service returned a SOAP fault with the message: [SOAP-ENV:Client] Username missing from request.


STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Register an External Application for connection to a Web Service.

  2. Register OmniPortlet associating the provider with the External Application.

  3. Add an OmniPortlet to a page.

  4. Define the OmniPortlet with the Web Service Data source (WSDL).
    On displaying the OmniPortlet it shows the above error.
