Symptoms

In JDeveloper 11g, while creating a BPM Business Object, under the Business Catalog, that is based on an external schema, the following error message is thrown and the schema can't be imported:

Exception: Unable to parse schema some_schema_name.xsd
invalid facet "pattern" for type "simpleType"
