java.net.SocketException Broken Pipe Error from CIS Application using SCSFileDownloadServlet (Doc ID 1162994.1)

Symptoms

Using CIS API 10.1.3.3.3 Version: 8.0.0.3 (Build 2009.0709.1515), deployed on WAS 6.1, getFile API calls are failing with the following errors:

Adding the connectionTimeout property does not have any impact and the error still occurs on the content server.

The content server is clustered but the requests from the 6.1 portal are being sent to one specific node in the content server cluster.
