Purpose
Problem Description
There are two types of Tuxedo configuration which essentially bind multiple machines together. These are Networked Tuxedo application and Domain Tuxedo applications.
For both of these configurations, network connectivity is essential. Without the ability for one machine to be able to communicate to another, the Networked or Domain Tuxedo application may only be partially functional.
There are a number of more common issues which occur during the configuration of a networked or multiple domain architecture. These include incorrect port configuration, invalid configuration of local and remote services, dynamic IP addresses and dynamic port numbers. In addition to these types of issues, there are also more general networking issues which may occur, one example being incorrect firewall configuration.
The purpose of this support pattern is to look at some of the more common networked and multiple domain configuration issues that you will encounter. In addition it will also cover general networking issues such as firewalls, packet tracing tools, the netstat tool, and other networking tools used for network analysis.
