Some Elements of the User Profile and Business Role Login Task Flows in WebCenter Spaces cannot be Customized (Doc ID 1234103.1)

Last updated on JULY 14, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.2.0 to 11.1.1.4.0 [Release 11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Some elements of the user profile and business role login task flows in WebCenter Spaces cannot be customized. The ones that cannot be customized do not have an ID assigned in JDeveloper.

The following document has been followed to customize task flows:
WebCenter Task Flow Customization (11.1.1.2.0)

When trying to customize

oracle\webcenter\peopleconnections\profile\view\jsf\regions\extended\extendedview.jspx

of the WebCenter People Connections View library

then some objects do not have an ID assigned, for example <af:spacer> or <af:panelHeader>.
These objects are greyed out in the Property Palette, hence they cannot be edited. Furthermore, when trying to delete these, nothing happens.

The same problem is observed in
oracle\webcenter\peopleconnections\profile\view\jsf\regions\oobviews\viewbasic.jspx

of the WebCenter People Connections View library with <af:panelLabelAndMessage>
and <af:outputText> tags.

The same problem occurs with file Login.jspx in Webcenter Spaces Web View library. Here some ADF components cannot be deleted.

Steps to Reproduce
==================
1. Follow chapters
Preparing a Custom WebCenter Application for Customizing Task Flows
and
Preparing Both WebCenter Spaces and a Custom WebCenter Application for Customizing Task Flows
of
WebCenter Task Flow Customization (11.1.1.2.0)

to set up the customization environment

2. Open
WebCenter People Connections View library ->
oracle\webcenter\peopleconnections\profile\view\jsf\regions\extended\extendedview.jspx

3. Try to delete <af:spacer> or <af:panelHeader> tags from the Application Navigator, and notice that nothing happens

4. When navigating on these elements in the Application Navigator, then in the Property Palette you see that the Id is blank, and all the other properties are disabled (greyed out)

The same can be observed with

oracle\webcenter\peopleconnections\profile\view\jsf\regions\oobviews\viewbasic.jspx

of the WebCenter People Connections View library with <af:panelLabelAndMessage>
and <af:outputText> tags.
