Last updated on JANUARY 26, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Reports Developer - Version 10.1.2.3 and later
Oracle Forms for OCI - Version 12.2.1.4.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Imagine scheduled Reports which are executed automatically.

In some scenario there might be no data or any other reason, which would result in a blank output. For example a scheduled email report would be sent with no content or blank attachments.

The goal of this document is to provide a solution which is able to detect these situations and is able to suppress such jobs.
The solution discussed here resides in Oracle Reports based PL/SQL coding  and takes advantage of build-in function SRW.PROGRAM_ABORT.
