Last updated on OCTOBER 11, 2023

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

This Document mainly explains on configuring Java AD External Authentication Plug-in for AD but the same procedure apply also for other Java External Authentication Plug-in ( ADAM,Sun iPlanet, Novell eDirectory, Openldap,IBM Tivoli Directory Server etc)

Scope

It is assumed that you have set all your environment variables correctly and OID 11g/12c is synchronized with AD successfully.  If you have any issues with synchronization then resolve them before setting up External Authentication Plugin.

Note: orclSourceObjectDN attribute used in synchronization mapping file is a mandatory attribute and it must be mapped, else Java Plugin will fail for authentication. This attribute mapping rule exists by default as below in synchronization mapping rules of a given profile in case of AD.
