Symptoms
10.1.2.0.2 version of Application Server was installed fresh and later patched to 10.1.2.3. While trying to start up components in the Mid-Tier the Reports Server ends up spawning numerous java processes which mainly is oracle.reports.engine.RWEngine process.
The Reports Server log file rwserver.log has the following messages logged.
