How To Prevent New Registered Users From Creating A New Wiki Page? (Doc ID 1282706.1)

Last updated on MAY 17, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.2.0 to 11.1.1.4.0 [Release 11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

For any new user registered to WebCenter Spaces/Wiki, we see the option  "create a new wiki page".  Is it possible to restrict which users can create Wiki pages?  The requirement is for the '"Create a new Wiki page" privilege  is to be granted to selected users only.

Below is the test case to illustrate the requirement - this applies to WebCenter 11.1.1.2:

a) Create a new role in Wiki Admin console called no-Perm and assigned no Permissions to it. Now associated the new (no-Perm) role to a new user and tried logging into Wiki with the new user, but we still do see the "Create a new wiki page" link.

b) In Wiki Admin console http://<WIKI_HOST>:<PORT>/owc_wiki and click on Admin link on top right, there is no option to disable new page creation for normal users, navigate inside General -> Settings section, only the options below were available:

Support friends, Support forum for every page, Support page ratings, Allow users to delete pages they created, Support WYSIWYG editing, Support trackbacks,
Support attachments, Use cached data (select false for use in clustered/multi-node environment), Show the page menu, Show page info.

Changing the option to toggle the setting - "Show the page menu" makes no difference.
