Enterprise Manager (EM) Does Not Show Correct Version For DIP Version After Patching / Upgrading IDM 11g and 12c

Symptoms
After upgrading Identity Management suite (IDM) and Directory Integration Platform (DIP) 11g from 11.1.1.2 to a higher or latest version and/or Bundle Patch, the DIP version number in Enterprise Manager (EM) Fusion Middleware (FMW) control still displays 11.1.1.2 version for DIP instead of the higher version (i.e., 11.1.1.3/11.1.1.4/11.1.1.5/<etc>) after the upgrade.
The same is true when upgrading OID 12.2.1.3 to 12.2.1.4, DIP 12c will still show as version 12.2.1.3.
Changes
Upgrade IDM from 11.1.1.2 to a higher or latest version and/or Bundle Patch. OR 12.2.1.3 to higher or latest version.
