Purpose

This troubleshooting guide is intended to help troubleshoot ORABPEL-05002 errors. The ORABPEL-05002 error message is a wrapper-type error message, which is always associated with another error message, which is the actual cause of the issue. For this reason, when getting an ORABPEL-05002 error, it is always necessary to investigate its accompanying error message The Troubleshooting Steps section in this note will help you with these steps.

The documentation for this error message can be found at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/core.1111/e10113/chapter_orabpel_messages.htm#sthref12349. An example error message is:

In this example, the cause of the ORABPEL-05002 error message was a transaction timeout, which occurred during message handling. (This particular case will be discussed in the troubleshooting details later in this document.)

As mentioned above, the ORABPEL-05002 error is a wrapper error message that includes other error messages. These underlying messages can be caused by different types of sub-systems. To analyze an ORABPEL-05002 error, it is necessary to investigate the related error messages in your log files and check both the ORABPEL-05002 message as well as the message that says "Caused by". This will help narrow down the sub-system or component that is causing the issue. This troubleshooting guide lists common issues that cause ORABPEL-05002 errors related to sub-systems and components.

If none of these solutions helps to resolve the issue, see the section "Do You Still Have Questions?" for information on how to continue troubleshooting.
