Symptoms

Oracle Virtual Directory (OVD) 11g integrated with Active Directory (AD) and Enterprise User Security (EUS).

Trying to map EUS users to the shared schema using Enterprise Security Manager (ESM).

After connecting to OVD as directory service with ESM and attempting to add a schema mapping, it only works if using the default users container, ie cn=users,dc=<COMPANY>,dc=com.

When attempting against another desired users container, ESM returns no errors but it does not add the mapping. After selecting another non-default users container, it only shows a blank page after hitting OK.
