Goal

Moving a Directory Server instance to a new physical server can be done a few different ways, depending on if the instance will use the same host name and port.

If not using the same hostname and port, a new instance with the same configurations can be configured using the DSCC, and replication can be configured.

This document covers moving an instance to a new physical host without replication and/or when using the same host name and port.
