Deq_time Column not Updated when Message Dequeued (Doc ID 1293709.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 09, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle SOA Suite - Version 11.1.1.5.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The column DEQ_TIME for the queue_table 'WF_BPEL_QTAB' is not being updated after messages have been successfully dequeued by the WF_BPEL_Q subscriber from a queue with the same_name and the messages for this subscriber remained in READY state.

This means that because the message remains in a Ready state then the AQ processes will not remove it from the queue, even though it has already been consumed. Over time these messages may cause file system issues as data remains stored in rdbms tablespaces which directly relates to file system file growth on hard disk drives - also affecting the rdbms due to performance issues.
