Symptoms

Start up of Oracle Application Server OPMN on MS Windows throws a service startup error

Examples:

opmnctl startall

opmnctl: starting opmn and all managed processes...
Unable to Open Service with error The specified service does not exist as an installed service.
(GetLastError()=1060)
Warning: Service startup failed, starting opmn.exe directly

opmnctl startall

opmnctl: starting opmn and all managed processes...
Failed to Start Service with error The service did not start due to a logon failure.
(GetLastError()=1069)
Warning: Service startup failed, starting opmn.exe directly

The opmnctl command has succeeded, OPMN should be up and running. However, the OPMN process will not persist after the MS Windows operating system user has logged out.
