You have a working installation of Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Release 1 Patchset 1 or 2 ( but are unable to successfully invoke the script to stop the WebLogic managed server running the SOA implementation (typically named soa_server1), when using the following command:

$ cd /app/oracle/fmw11g/user_projects/domains/soaDomain/bin
$ ./ soa_server1

The command starts to execute but hangs indefinitely before completing with output which may look similar to the following:

** Setting up SOA specific environment...
EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES= -da:org.apache.xmlbeans...
USER_MEM_ARGS=-Xms512m -Xmx1024m
** End SOA specific environment setup
