Certain MS Office Documents Fail To Index And Generate DRG-11301/DRG-11302/DRG-11428 Errors

Symptoms
Using Content Server 11.1.1.3
After checking in a new Word or Excel document into Content Server, the document is released, but following message is displayed in the Content Info page:
Index Error:Full text index failed. Unexpected failure by Indexer.
Content has been indexed with Info only. Resubmit should only be performed if the problem has been resolved.

When enabling verbose "indexer" audit traces, following errors will get logged in $MW_HOME/user_projects/domains/<ucm domain>/ucm/cs/data/traces/idccs_UCM_server1_current.log:
