BPEL Instance Failing When Updating Imaging Indexes With the Error "Faulted while invoking operation updateDocument on provider UpdateImageIndexes" (Doc ID 1298446.1)

Symptoms

BPEL instance is failing in BPEL composite when trying to update an Imaging Index. 

The BPEL audit shows the following error: 

Faulted while invoking operation "updateDocument" on provider "UpdateImageIndexes

The BPEL logs are showing the following error information;

[arg: java.lang.NullPointerException] WS Binding: exception durign SOAP invocation: java.lang.NullPointerException
<WSInvocationManager::invoke> got FabricInvocationException[[ oracle.fabric.common.FabricInvocationException
