How to Disable Weak SSL Ciphers for the JMX and IIOP Ports (Doc ID 1298919.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 06, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle GlassFish Server - Version 8.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Within the Domain Administration Server's (DAS) Admin Console you can choose which SSL ciphers are used by secure HTTP listeners.  However, there is no GUI support for restricting the SSL ciphers used by the JMX and IIOP listeners.

By default, the JMX and IIOP listeners will support all the included SSL ciphers when SSL is enabled for them.   Therefore, if there is a requirement to disable the weak SSL ciphers for the JMX and IIOP ports, this must be done using the asadmin command line utility, and this article explains how to achieve this.
