'ORA-00972: identifier is too long' Error Loading Data from Oracle to Essbase (Doc ID 1309360.1)

Symptoms

When loading data from Oracle to Essbase using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), the Interface Load data (or metadata) into Essbase step fails:

This is due to the length of the long Essbase column, which is greater than 32 characters.

We tried changing the short description for this Essbase column in the Model but it still fails. We do not have an option of reducing the length of the column in the Essbase because of other business complications.

Is there a a workaround wherein the target Essbase column "VERY_LONG_COLUMN_NAME_ON_ESSBASE" can be retained for its length and still be mapped and get loaded?
