OID 11g Starts On LDAP Non-SSL Port 0 (Zero). ldapbind Fails: Cannot connect to the LDAP server. Log: Error: Listen failed, OS error = (98) [Address Already in Use]. How to Restore Original SSL Configuration to an OID component When OID is Not Accessible? (Doc ID 1315329.1)

Oracle Internet Directory - Version 11.1.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Oracle Internet Directory (OID) 11g had been working before and no changes were made.

Backend Database (DB) was shutdown and after DB restarted, OID no longer worked.

OID startup via opmnctl reports OID is up and running, but shows nonssl port as 0 (zero).

Ldapbinds to either OID ports do not work.

> opmnctl status -l

> ldapbind -h <OID_FQ_HOSTNAME> -p <OID_LDAP_NONSSL_PORT> -D "cn=orcladmin" -w <password>
Cannot connect to the LDAP server
> ldapbind -h <OID_FQ_HOSTNAME> -p <OID_LDAP_SSL_PORT> -D "cn=orcladmin" -w <password> -U 1
SSL handshake failed

Verified ports were free with netstat -an | grep <port#> command before attempting restart; also tried rebooting the server.
