Oracle iPlanet Web Proxy Server does not Log the Compressed Sizes of Files Compressed by the Web Proxy Server (Doc ID 1316862.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 15, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle iPlanet Web Proxy Server - Version 4.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Releases of the Oracle iPlanet web proxy server prior to 4.0.17 do not log the compressed sizes of files compressed by the web proxy server.  Instead, the web proxy server logs the sizes of the files prior to compression of the files.

This behavior can be observed by examining the value of the Req->vars.r2p-cl flex-init parameter in the web proxy server's access log for a test file when http compression is enabled for the test file and when http compression is not enabled for the test file.
