Purpose

This document will show how to change the JDK and Domain Start Mode in Oracle WebCenter Portal.

JRockit JDK is very efficient for production use, which gets very fast after some up-time. However, in development environments where you need to do a lot of configuration changes and system restarts, the Oracle JDK is a lot better, as it starts and stops faster. Normally the Oracle JDK is preferred in development or test environments where there are frequent restarts. In this tutorial you will install the Oracle JDK and configure your WebCenter Portal domain to use the Oracle JDK instead of the JRockit JDK.

This document has been tested with WebCenter Portal 11.1.1.4 to 11.1.1.8 releases.
This is part of a series of Tutorials for Installing and Configuring WebCenter Portal.
