Symptoms
When a portlet consumer application (e.g. WebCenter Spaces) tries to access a portlet resource from an external source e.g. images, java scripts, style sheet etc the following error is logged in the consumer application log files :
<> <Error> <oracle.portlet.client.resourceproxy.PortletResourceServlet> <WCS-40027> <Error proxying resource.
oracle.portlet.client.container.PortletRuntimeException: java.net.UnknownHostException: <hostname>
