Symptoms
When using ldapmodify to write to server1, it returns an ldap referral message.
For example:
# ./ldapmodify -R -p PORT -D "cn=DS_ADMIN" -w <dPASSWORD>
dn: uid=USER_ONE,ou=people,dc=SUFFIX_DN
changetype: modify
replace: description
description: 123
modifying entry uid=USER_ONE,ou=people,dc=SUFFIX_DN
ldap_modify: Referral received
ldap_modify: matched: dc=SUFFIX_DN
Referral: ldap://<host>:<port>/uid=USER_ONE,ou=people,dc=SUFFIX_DN
Server1 is a master and should not be referring updates.
