WebLogic Server: Activate Changes From Admin Console Is Failing as Listen Address in Console URL Changes From Hostname to IP Address (Doc ID 1328925.1)

Last updated on JUNE 07, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 10.3.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In WebLogic Server versions 10.3.3 and above, when accessing the Admin Console using the HTTPS URL of the Admin Server, making changes from the Admin Console, and activating the changes, activate changes fails. At the time of the issue, the listen address in the console URL changes from the hostname to the IP address of the Admin Server instance. In some cases, it redirects the page back to the login page when activating the changes.

This issue happens when the Admin Console is accessed directly using the WLS Admin Server HTTPS listen address and port number. In a few cases, this issue happens when Admin Console is accessed through proxy servers like Apache and F5 load balancer where the console URL changes from the hostname to the IP address.
