UCM 11g Unable To Authenticate Against Multiple Active Directory Domains (Doc ID 1329801.1)

Symptoms

Active Directory is in use for our authentication and authorization of Content Server users.
Users exist in multiple domains that access our Content Servers.  The domains belong to the same Active Directory forest.

Prior to 11g the Active Directory integration for the Content Server has easily handled this scenario but it now appears not to be able to do this out of the box.

Is there an out of the box solution that can be implemented which will allow for us to authenticate users from multiple Active Directory domains?
