Symptoms

Creating DB adapter for SCAN database fails with "Invalid Database Connection"

--Create a new DB adapter using ODSM.
--For URL type use predefined database
--Receive error "Invalid Database Connection"  when trying to connect to SCAN database

-- Change URL type to use Custom URL
-- Change “:” to “/” between Port and DB Instance
--DB connection successful after changing to Custom URL

-- After creation, DB Adapter looses Custom URL settings
-- Plug-ins can not be added.
-- Can not edit Adapter.

The problems described above only  occur with SCAN database.
