Portlet Unavailable After Changing Persistence Store From File To Database (Doc ID 1331966.1)

Goal

1.- Create and deploy WSRP portlets Producer
2.- Register the WSRP Producer with Spaces instance, and confirm that everything works as expected.
3.- Update the portlets Producer to use the database preference store instead of the default file-based preference store as documented in Oracle® Fusion Middleware Developer's Guide for Oracle WebCenter:
F.4 Setting Up a Preference Store

4.- After completing the above task access the Space (with the WSRP portlets).

Notice, Spaces reports that the portlets are unavailable.
The Spaces logs report the following

...oracle.adf.model.portlet.binding.PortletBindingException: The metadata for portlet binding portlet<someNumber> was not found in MDS."
