Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

This document describes the method to build and deploy XSQL Servlet applications in FMW 11g

Development have confirmed that the XSQL Servlet method continues to be supported in FMW 11g.
Currently there is no formal documentation on the XSQL Servlet, and so this note attempts to give a step-by-step example of how to build a demo XSQL application.

The application will be deployed and tested in JDeveloper, and then subsequently be deployed and tested against an external FMW Domain.

Note that the functionality required to support XSQL Servlet resides in the Java Required Files (JRF) layer installed into the 'oracle_common' Oracle Home and so it is not possible to deploy an XSQL servlet application to a standalone 'vanilla' Weblogic Server (WLS) domain.

A minimum requirement is that the Middleware home contains at least one Oracle Home (and therefore the companion 'oracle_common' home).
