ODI 11g Installer Window Terminates Abruptly With No Error On 64-Bit Windows Machines (Doc ID 1335928.1)

Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit) - Version: 2008 R2

Symptoms

When running the setup for ODI 11g R1 Installation (ofm_odi_generic_11.1.1.3.0_disk1_1of1) with the following method : (As per <Document:1214428.1>).

  1. Download ODI 11.1.1.3.0 Generic Installer (ofm_odi_generic_11.1.1.3.0_disk1_1of1).
  2. Download JDK1.6_26.
  3. Install JDK1.6_26.
  4. Unzip ODI 11.1.1.3.0 Generic.
  5. Navigate to Disk1 folder.
  6. Run Setup.exe.
  7. Supply path to 32-bit JDK.
  8. After the path was given the installer hangs for approximately 20-30 secs and finally vanishes.

the command box closes and the Installer window terminates abruptly.

Note this is also applicable for 11.1.1.5.0, 11.1.1.6.0 and 11.1.1.7.0 installation. We need a 64-bit JDK for this installation to start.
