Uid Not Returned From OVD 11.1.1.2.0 AD Adapter When Explicitly Requested.

Symptoms
1. Configured AD adapter, using InetAD plugin.
2. Did the following search
$ ldapsearch -Z -h hostname -p 0000 -b "ou=people,dc=xxxx,dc=org" -D"cn=orcladmin" -w - "mail=USERNAME@xxx.org" |grep "^uid"
Enter bind password:
uid: USERNAME
$ ldapsearch -Z -h hostname -p 000 -b "ou=people,dc=xxxx,dc=org" -D"cn=orcladmin" -w - "mail=USERNAME@xxxx.org" uid
Enter bind password:
version: 1
dn: CN=Name\, User. (USERNAME),OU=USERS,OU=XX,OU=Locations,ou=people,dc=xxxx,dc=org
When explicitly requesting uid as a return attribute, no uid result is returned.
