OWB 11.2.0.2 Generates Inner Join Instead Of Outer Join Using ANSI Syntax (Doc ID 1353042.1)

Last updated on MAY 09, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Warehouse Builder - Version 11.2.0.2 to 11.2.0.2 [Release 11.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

If an OWB 11.2.0.2  mapping has a joiner operator defined such that one of the joining keys is derived using a CASE expression similar to

CASE WHEN TABLE1.COLUMN1 IS NULL THEN 'N/A'
     ELSE TABLE1.COLUMN1
END

then the code generated for the mapping contains inner join even though outer join is specified in the joiner operator.

This is the case only when the ANSI SQL Syntax option for the mapping set to 'true'.
