When Cloning FMW 11g, Can Multiple Binary Archives Be Combined
(Doc ID 1354366.1)
Last updated on JULY 29, 2024
Applies to:
Oracle Fusion Middleware - Version 11.1.1.1.0 to 11.1.1.5.0 [Release Oracle11g]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
The procedure of 11g cloning is that copyBinary is the first step that copies all the binaries to an archive, and thereafter you use copyConfig for system and / or java components. At the moment, copyBinary archives *all* binaries in a middleware home - there are no parameter options to list the binaries from specific oracle homes.
The question is whether it is possible to mix/merge binary or config archives. This might be required if already having built a WLS+SOA clone, for example, you wanted to add IDM from a different archive of, say, WLS+IDM, without having to build a whole WLS+SOA+IDM source install from which to create a new gold archive.
