Last updated on DECEMBER 22, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Platform Security for Java - Version 11.1.1.5.0 to 11.1.1.7.0 [Release Oracle11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

How to configure Oracle Authorization Policy Manager (OAPM) when the other Identity and Access Management(IAM) components in different machines.

For example:

Box-1->Managed server (MS2) with OIM and SOA
Box-2->Admin server and Managed server (MS1).MS1 having the OAM, ODS and OIF

Following Oracle Fusion Middleware Installation Guide for Oracle Identity Management 11g Release 1 (11.1.1) Chapter 20.5 OAPM in a Domain Containing OIM

In section 20.5.4, Step 1: "Ensure that all the prerequisites, listed in Prerequisites, are satisfied. In addition, see Important Notes Before You Begin"
"It is assumed that you are installing Oracle Internet Directory, Oracle Virtual Directory, Oracle Identity Manager, Oracle Access Manager, Oracle Adaptive Access Manager, and Oracle Identity Navigator on the same machine."

Since Installed products are NOT on the same machine, what documentation should be followed?

Note that is is not generally a good idea to install IDM products (OID, OVD, OIF) in the same domain as IAM products (OAM, OIAM, OAAM).
