Symptoms

The iPlanet Web administration console can be used to configure the web instance configuration. The changes are applied when the Apply button is pressed as shown below:


On iPlanet Web Server 6.1 SP11 and later, when attempting to manage an instance, the following error occurs and seen on the top right hand side of the web interface.


When the error "Error parsing server.xml VSCLASS entry not found" occurs, the apply button will be missing. Without this button, making configuration changes is not possible on the web console.

Changes

This issue may be seen especially on iPlanet Web Server running on AIX.
