SSL error is seen when connecting to SSL port of Oracle Iplanet Web Server 7.0 Admin Server using various clients:

Chrome browser:

Error 107 (net::ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR): SSL protocol error.

Firefox browser:

An error occurred during a connection to julie:8277.

SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length.

(Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long)


SSL3 alert read:fatal:protocol version
SSL_connect:error in SSLv2/v3 read server hello A
2025:error:1407742E:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:tlsv1 alert protocol version:../../../../common/openssl/ssl/s23_clnt.c:470:

while on Internet Explorer 8 (IE8), it displays the following:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage.
