Why Do Users in ActiveDirectory "admin" Group Automatically Get Admin Rights in UCM? (Doc ID 1360746.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 16, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Content - Version 11.1.1.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

You are using ActiveDirectoryAuthenticator to connect UCM to Active Directory. If you add an AD user to a group called admin or administrators (case does not matter), that user automatically gets all roles in Content Server. That is, UCM treats all users in such AD groups as administrators. If you remove the user from that group, you see default or guest roles assigned in UCM.

Why does this happen?
