Purpose
The Oracle Identity Manager application makes use of Multi-cast IP network communications for normal operations. It is used by the Design Console as well as for application level caching within OIM. Sometimes a host or router will have Multicast networking disabled. This will provide some simple steps to test and verify if multicast communications between two or more nodes of an OIM Cluster is working fine or not.
Scope
This is intended for environments with multiple nodes, as within a cluster and specifically for installs done with WebLogic as the application server.
