Translations for ADF Pop-up inside ADF Taskflow will not Be Translated in WebCenter Framework Portal Application (Doc ID 1363435.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 01, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.4.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The translations inside an ADF taskflow will not work when consumed in a WebCenter Framework Portal application, whereas, the same translation will work correctly inside standalone ADF application.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Create a plain ADF application and create a model - ADFBC to connect to a DB for custom test table.
  2. Create resource bundle to enable translation and associate it to ADFBC (Application Module) to enable field validation, e.g. if any of the required form fields are missed to be filled in, it pops an error dialog and translation is enabled to this error message too.
  3. Test the standalone ADF taskflow, result: the translations on field validation message works as expected.
  4. Consume the same taskflow as ADF shared library to WebCenter Framework Portal application and deploy the taskflow as a region and see if the message is translated.
Result: The messages and the error dialog looses its translation when consumed into WebCenter Framework Portal application.
