Error Connecting to Oracle database running on AIX platform using DMS and non-DMS JDBC Driver 11.2 with OAUTH marshaling or ORA-1017 (Doc ID 1363761.1)

An application deployed on Weblogic and using the JDBC/thin  dms  driver version ( ojdbc6dms.jar )  gets an OAUTH marshaling failure error when connecting to an Oracle database running on an AIX platform.

When the JDBC driver  is switched to a non-dms ojdbc6.jar the error becomes ORA-1017

ojdbc6dms.jar error:

Caused By: weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourceSystemException:
Could not connect to 'oracle.jdbc.xa.client.OracleXADataSource'
The returned message is: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
