Binary Data Seen In UCM Server Log Files And Oracle HTTP Server Log Files (Doc ID 1367793.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 18, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Content - Version 11.1.1.4.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Using UCM 11.1.1.4 on Linux in a cluster

The 2 UCM clusters are part of the same Weblogic domain.  Shared storage is provided by Oracle Grid Infrastructure ACFS (ASM Cluster Filesystem) 11.2.0.2

Occasionally, the Weblogic server output log, Oracle HTTP Server's access_log and error_log files contain binary data, which seem to be part of documents that are being checked in to Content Server

Every time this issue occurs, the underlying ACFS file system does a recovery of the mount point. As part of the recovery, it kills all the processes that have open file descriptors on the mount point and as a result, the WLS managed server instance, Oracle Web tier (OHS), node manager which reside on the shared file system are killed.
