Using the 10.2.0.3 JDBC/OCI driver a Java program selects data from the 10.2.0.3 Database without any issues.
After upgrading the Oracle client from 10.2.0.3 to 188.8.131.52, the following error is returned when executing the same query using the same data and same Java application.
The following error is returned:
ORA-29275: partial multibyte character.
From the 10.2 client, the JDBC/OCI driver works.
From the 184.108.40.206 client, the JDBC/OCI driver produces the error.
Both of the above scenarios go to the same 10.2.0.3 database on the back end.
Even the SQL*Plus from 220.127.116.11 fails
ORA-29275: partial multibyte character
The 18.104.22.168 JDBC/thin driver works, may not be available as a workaround in scenarios where the JDBC/OCI driver is required.
