New Instances of BPEL Processes with Fault Policies are Created Every 5 Minutes (Doc ID 1382407.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 13, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle SOA Suite - Version 11.1.1.4.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

You have a SOA cluster, and you've implemented a composite process flow as follows:

Synchronous BPEL process A --> Synchronous BPEL process B

Each BPEL Process has Catch and CatchAll activities in addition to simple fault policies. During  execution, you observe that if there is a fault in BPEL process B, BPEL process instances are being created every 5 minutes, both when faults occur and as well as for successful completion.

Note:  this issue was observed on a cluster.  But it could also be seen on a single node install with a front end HTTP server.
