Symptoms

After added an instance to be monitored in DSCC using

# dsccreg add-server -h <DSCC server> -p <DSCC port> <instance path>


DSCC could not connect to the agent running on the instance

The web page in the browser reports:

Could not contact the DSCC agent on <instance server name>.  Use the command cacaoadm to check that the DSCC agent is installed and running on port <cacao port>.



Default cacao port for DSCC is
  • 11162 in 6.x
  • 21162 since 7.x


Cacao port should be checked with

# cacaoadm list-params
