Fusion Middleware Control Data Streaming Error When Origin Server Disabled In Webcache (Doc ID 1395435.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 09, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 10.3.5 and later
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

The symptoms are observed in the following circumstances:

Navigate to FMW Control -> Web Tier -> webcache1 and confirm there are at least two rows in the Origin Servers table

In Web Cache turn off routing to one of the Origin Servers:
Navigate to Web Cache -> Administration -> Origin Servers , select one of the origin servers and click Edit and uncheck the "Routing Enabled" checkbox and click OK.

Restart webcache1 with Web Cache -> Control -> Restart ...

Navigate back to the FMW Control -> Web Tier -> webcache1 and you will see the Origin Servers are gone from the Origin Servers table. So there or no metrics even for the origin server still handling requests.

After about two minutes hit refresh and metrics are still not be captured, instead there is the pop-up alert saying:

"An unknown error occurred during data streaming. Ask your System
Administrator to inspect the server-side logs."

Click OK and navigation continues normally, but the Origin Server statistics chart for the Web Cache component are still blank. There should be metrics plotted for the Origin Servers which are still enabled.
