ODI Variable Refresh Statements For DATE Datatypes Appear To Be Incorrect After Upgrading From ODI 10g To 11g Format Changed On Date Value (Doc ID 1409867.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 08, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Data Integrator - Version 11.1.1.5.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After having upgraded from Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 10g to 11g, ODI Variable refresh statements which return a string with DATE content does not have the same content as in the previous version.

More specifically, in ODI 10g, the following SQL instruction:

SELECT to_date(sysdate,'dd.mm.rrrr')

returns values in the format:

'yyyy-mm-dd'

However, in ODI 11g, the returned values are in the format:

'yyyy-mm-dd hh_mm_ss.o'

This means that we will be obliged to manually modify all the related Variables.

Why is this occurring and is there a workaround?
