How can EJB 3 Methods Be Secured in the WebLogic Administration Console In The Same Manner As EJB 2.x? (Doc ID 1420817.1)

Last updated on MARCH 26, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 10.3 to 10.3.5
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

In the WebLogic Server Administration Console, Security Policies for EJBs can be managed by selecting methods for the EJB component from a drop down list. This is working as expected for EJB 2.x components but not for EJB 3. For example, if a simple EJB 3 application is deployed using the @Stateless annotation, in its corresponding Security tab, in the Console's Deployments section, nothing is displayed, that is, no EJB methods are suggested. The only option is to secure "ALL" methods of the EJB3. The same steps for an EJB 2.x application allows EJB methods to be protected by Roles. How can this be corrected?
