Apex Application and Websheets Cannot Share Session Cookie (Doc ID 1424298.1)

Goal

There is a requirement to add a link to a Websheet and a database application to share authentication.

When this is attempted, it does not seem to work even they are both using APEX authentication.

For example:

Test application:
http://....:<PORT>/apex/f?p=<PAGE_ID>

Click View Websheet Sample

Login prompt appears.

Is this expected behavior? Is there anyway to make database and websheet applications share authentication?
